If after the viewing you do move in, you will be living with the landlord in his home.
So at the viewing, he will want to learn as much as possible about you, not your friend, so that he can assess whether you would fit well into his home.
Under no circumstances should you appoint a friend to view on your behalf.

If you come from overseas you may feel nervous about your poor command of the English language.
You may feel tempted to let your friend do all the talking.
Once again I must emphasise, this is not a good idea.

Finding your way to the viewing
Locate the accommodation that you wish to view on the map.
Plan your route.
Will you walk, will you cycle, will you go by car, will you use public transport?
Be punctual for your appointment.
Allow plenty of time.
If you get lost or delayed don't just turn up late without an apology.
Phone the landlord or agent and explain politely what has happened.
If you are lost they may even offer you some helpful assistance.
